Microsoft Management Summit 2010 - circulated on the ' Roof of the World '

' Rainy, gloomy morning, we went into battle for a light day, and our enemies want a dark night robber...'.
(A. H. Tolstoy, ' Gloomy morning ' trilogy ' The Road to Calvary ').

This is a continuation of the story ( with photo) about the Microsoft Management Summit 2010 that took place 20. 10. 2010 in the club ' Roof of the World ' ( a report directly from there, with plenarki, there. http://cloudclub-ru. blogspot. com/2010/10/microsoft-management-summit-2010. html. ).

So, gloomy morning, I went on to the secret entrance to the club with Taras Shevchenko embankment ( where it is and about TrehgornoBadaevsky brewery - here. http://akolesov-travel. blogspot. com/2010/09/blog-post_09. html. ).

And I thought: what am I to think of yesterday's spat term (allegedly ) the case and rode on bicycles at Sokolniki - a great ( and it seems like the last) day of the Golden Autumn in Moscow (see. here.
http://akolesov-travel. blogspot. com/2010/10/18102010. html. ).

It looks like a strict guard, which I wrote in last post:.

Now: what is liked and not liked.

I liked.
a. They all had a MMS ( think MS first meaningful action of the corporate business topics in this season).
2. Although at the last moment, but remembered and prishlasili.
3. In general, like all the reports plenarki.
4. A good portfolio is a gift....
5. Few were able to talk.

Do not like it.
a. invitation. I received it yesterday in 18:00, had to quickly change plans. To the Editor sent a day earlier. late.
2. Venue. It's just amazing - this style in the ' cool -cool ' version. I just wrote you need to change the format of conferences under the new communications capabilities. But why should not confuse business events with a dance floor?.
3. Place gather additionally uncomfortable (far from the subway ), and the scheme as there was last time (I wandered out there five weeks ago ), so there was now. I know people who are looking for an hour.
4. Inconvenient for the conference. Plenarka was in the ballroom (to all appearances - a large former warehouse). Low - I think about 15 grudusov. In other areas - not much warmer. After dinner, they say, there simply is leaking roof.
5. Internet access is not ( had a phone number).
6. Work with the press was not ( in the press registration list was not at all). Who should I contact with questions and for the materials - it is not clear... But, I used personal connections, but Basil Malanin was simply no time to talk, but he still helped.
7. As usual ' question and answer ' to plenarke was not originally envisaged.

And now just a photo:.

It's very stylish, but it is clear that the organizers of many of the registered did not wait (probably not find where to go - go).

Warming up the audience at the level of general provisions. The room is very stylish: light (or heat? ) By burning ( a fire in a washed ) lamps.

Andrew Drobot (CIO Microsoft Russia ).

Really liked the presentation of Rick Bakken about how MS ' rivet ' their datacenters.

Coffee Break.
The unfortunate young lady ( with short sleeves!) Has just Okolelov from the cold, but surely worth the post!.

Basil Malanin introduced us to Rick, we talked a little bit. It is prudent to put on a jacket.

There must pass Section, but I never got it started and went home.

And far from home I saw this: perhaps it sailed from the car wash, which is located immediately next to:.

At this until all.

On vocational education in the field of knowledge management

David Griffits. (David Griffith), a teacher from. University of Edinburgh. and Managing Director. K-Cubed Ltd. , Placed in a group. Knowledge Management Education (KMEdu) Hub. in the social network. LinkedIn. message. that the University of Edinburgh is planning to introduce training to obtain certification in the field of knowledge management ( organizational knowledge and learning) in the fourth quarter of 2011. Name of training program, maybe it's a working version, it sounds like. Professional Development Certificate in Knowledge Management.

All program details are still unknown, but David has shared basic information about the academic model, namely, as a result of training will be issued either a certificate of course completion or a certificate of completion (to be issued on the results of the exam). In addition, the certificate of completion corresponds to the. level 'M' for one of the Masters Course at the University. Duration of training is 5 days ( 40 hours ) to obtain a certificate of course completion plus 10 hours for those who wish to take the exam to obtain a certificate about completion of the course.

I believe that the introduction of additional modules or courses on management of knowledge within the various. vocational education. and. master's programs. the universities of the world taking on the characteristics of stable tendency. This suggests that knowledge management has found recognition as one of the mandatory functions of management as such, along with financial management, HR- management, marketing management, which are taught as a university discipline. That is, the MOH has not seen as a fashion trend in management practices, as well as an ongoing activity. in combination with traditional management functions, designed to provide a sustainable competitive advantage based on the organization manage its intellectual resources. Consequently, successful managers must learn to apply the MOH in my practice.

By the way, was not so long ago. is known. That in the East Ukrainian University. In. Why did the Maya built a maze in the water?

Experts suspect that the Mayan tribes were not only builders of unique land, and underground facilities, many of which are to be found.

... ru. Labyrinths are quite long, as soon connect 14 caves, some of which are flooded. Scientists say that according to popular belief the Maya, the souls of the dead had to be accompanied by underground tunnels dog, who helped the deceased to pass through numerous tests, after which the soul could finally go to the underworld.

Unusually, scientists say that some of the caves, located in what is now Guatemala, have exits to the surface. Single point of view as to what the deceased would need access to the outdoors, experts do not. However, according to William Saturno, an expert on Mayan culture at Boston University, the ancient inhabitants of these places believed in the reality of ' many layers '. ' These portals between life and death, where you could lose the living and the dead find, had important social and religious significance for the Maya ' - he said.

In one part of mazes they found the 90- meter road that ends with the construction of the columns and the pond. Labyrinths are held on the territory of several states: Southern Mexico, Guatemala and throughout the north of Belize. According to archaeologists, most of the mazes have been built in the period from 250 to 900 AD. Note that all traces of the Mayan civilization was broken off about the latest timestamp. Now, Mexican archaeologists investigate temples and pyramids, the combined system of labyrinths near the city Merida ( the capital of Yucatan ).

The oldest building of these parts has an age of 1900 years, others were built in the period from 750 to 850 AD. ' There are stones, huge columns and sculptures of priests, all located exclusively in the caves ' - said Guillermo de Anda, whose team has been six months in this area of research. According to him, several times they happened to find examples of pottery and human remains.

Archaeologists say that the top of the temples and caves beneath them were built, most likely at the same time, except that the upper part of the design was intended for the living and the lower - for the dead. Nevertheless, some experts suggest that the first had been built only temples and labyrinths and caves appeared after the spread of an ancient Mayan myth of the afterlife.
